Oct 9/20 – It is with great sadness that our beloved President of our local, Joseph Zboralski, passed away. Joe taught in the Department of Politics and Public Administration for 35 years, and spent much of his time at Ryerson actively engaged as a CUPE member in the activities of the local. In 2012 he became our Unit 1 Chief Steward, and then became President of our local in 2015. Joe believed in social justice and human rights, and over the years did everything he could to make the workplace for CUPE members at Ryerson the very best that it could be.

Joe was a kind, courteous, intelligent and insightful leader. He was an engaging storyteller, with a wry sense of humour and a warm and ready welcome for everyone he encountered. Joe was respected and liked by his students, his colleagues in the department, by administration at Ryerson, and of course, by all of us in the union who were fortunate enough to know him.

Joe was our union President, our colleague, and our friend. He will be greatly missed.

In solidarity,
CUPE 3904 Executives
