UNIT 3 GENERAL ASSISTANCE FUND (GAF)
Effective September 1, 2024, funds are based on academic year (no longer based on calendar year) i.e., Members are eligible to apply once per academic year.
IMPORTANT: Those who are eligible to apply for Unit 3 GAF will receive an email from the Unit 3 VP with the online GAF claim form link once the GAF becomes available i.e., the link to the claim form is not available on the website, please check your email.
- Unit 3 GAF for Fall is available each year from October 1 to November 30, or until funds are fully depleted.
- Unit 3 GAF for Winter is available each year from February 1 to March 31, or until funds are fully depleted.
- Unit 3 GAF for Spring/Summer is available each year from June 1 to July 31, or until funds are fully depleted.
Eligibility: Unit 3 Lab Monitors, Graduate Assistants, and Teaching Assistants having at least one course appointment in the current term (with Unit 3 union dues being deducted from your biweekly pay), are invited to apply for General Assistance Funds (GAF) of $350.
- Funds are available on a first-come-first-served basis; submit your claims early
- Should funds be depleted prior to the deadline the link to the claim form will no longer be active
- Maximum of one claim per academic year; incomplete claims will be denied
- Members must use their @torontomu.ca email address when applying
- All Payments are issued by electronic funds transfer (EFT) at the end of the claim process each term
Please note: All Unit 3 GAF claim forms are accepted through online submission only. All Unit 3 GAF claim forms must be correctly and fully completed with all necessary information and documentation attached including official banking information (i.e., picture or scan of a cheque or direct deposit form), pictures, scans or PDF versions of original receipts where indicated or they will not be considered. Please make sure that you upload your banking information where indicated and your electronic versions of original receipts where indicated.
